30 multilingual children's book pages, audited end-to-end.

Lufi & Friends · multilingual children's songbooks (Italian, German, Greek, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, French) · lufiandfriends.com

The headline numbers

  • 30 product pages audited (all "My First X Book That Sings" titles and sets, every supported language).
  • Average score: 54/100 (range 35-65). The 28-check weighted score, not the old AI-only score.
  • 0 failures. Every page returned a complete report with rewritten title, description, FAQ, and Q&A.
  • Average run time: ~20 seconds per page (Gemini-only, free tier).
  • 1 brand voice extracted once, reused across 30 pages (per-host cache). Voice descriptor: "joyful + warm · conversational."

How the 28 checks shook out on Lufi pages

Every Lufi book scored very similarly because they share a Shopify theme. The pattern is the same on most Shopify stores: the basics are present, but the AI-readability layer is mostly missing.

Critical (40 pts max) - ~30/40

  • ✅ Title - clear and within length (most score full points).
  • ✅ Description - 400-500 chars (full points).
  • ✅ Primary image - 1080-1400 px, exceeds the GMC 500x500 minimum (full points).
  • ✅ Price - set on every variant (full points).
  • ✅ Brand - "Lufi & Friends" via Shopify Vendor (full points).
  • ✅ Product schema in raw HTML - present (full points). Many Shopify themes load this client-side only; Lufi's renders server-side which is what AI crawlers need.
  • ✅ Reviews on the page - Fera widget detected (full points).
  • ❌ Availability - Shopify's /products/handle.json returns available: null instead of true/false. AI can't tell. Loses 5 pts per page.

Important (40 pts max) - ~14-20/40

  • ✅ Meta description - present, in target length.
  • ✅ Star rating - shown.
  • ✅ Image alt text - present on the primary image.
  • ✅ Shipping clarity - "free shipping" mentioned.
  • ⚠️ 4+ images - most pages have 1-3 (half points).
  • ❌ FAQ on page / FAQ schema - none. Loses 4 pts.
  • ❌ Video - none. Loses 4 pts.
  • ❌ Customer photos (UGC) - none. Loses 4 pts.
  • ❌ Review schema in HTML - Fera widget displays reviews but doesn't emit AggregateRating JSON-LD. Loses 4 pts.
  • ❌ Breadcrumb - no breadcrumb nav on the PDP. Loses 4 pts.

Boost (20 pts max) - ~10-12/20

  • ✅ AI names you in shopping queries - Gemini names Lufi in 7-8 of 8 buyer queries (full points). Strong brand recognition in the multilingual-kids niche.
  • ✅ AI cites your site - Lufi appears as a source in 4-6 of 8 queries (full points).
  • ✅ Image >=800x800 (full points).
  • ✅ Mobile viewport (full points).
  • ✅ Canonical URL (full points).
  • ❌ GTIN / ISBN - no ISBN-13 in product source. Loses 2 pts. (Easy fix: add to a Shopify metafield, push to Google.)
  • ❌ Title 70-150 chars - Lufi titles are 35-50 chars (the search-optimal length is longer).
  • ❌ Organization schema - not on the PDP.
  • ❌ BreadcrumbList schema - not present.

Buying intent: how scores cluster by what a shopper is looking for

The 30 books cover 4 main buying intents. The audit score barely moves between intents because the gaps are structural (theme-wide), but the rewritten copy changes dramatically because the buyer is different.

Buyer intentSample productAvg PPP scoreWhat the rewrite emphasizes
Gift for a baby / family membermy-first-italian-book-that-sings-lullabies54Better"A keepsake for grandparents to pass down" - heritage, ritual, emotion.
Language learning for kidsmy-first-spanish-book-that-sings-traditional-songs54Better"Real Spanish from a former bilingual teacher" - accuracy, age range, pronunciation help.
Bundle / multi-book giftset-of-3-italian-books-that-sing54New"Most families gift the Set of 3 - one for each milestone" - bundle value vs single.
Pre-order / new releasepre-order-my-first-polish-book-that-sings-lullabies54Better"Ships early August - lock in your copy" - urgency + ship date prominent.

What the lowest-scoring pages had in common

Two Spanish "Set of 2" variants scored 35-45 (the lowest in the batch). They had:

  • A near-duplicate title to the original Spanish "Set of 2" page (Shopify auto-suffixed "-3"). AI couldn't tell which to recommend, so it skipped both.
  • Description text reused from the parent collection rather than rewritten for the variant. AI saw it as the same product.
  • No item_group_id linking them as variants in the feed.

The 10-page fix list we generated

Sorted by impact, each is a single change Lufi can make in Shopify Admin or with one line of Liquid:

  1. Add FAQ schema to every PDP. Tap into the existing PPP-generated Q&A pairs. +4 pts on all 30 pages.
  2. Enable AggregateRating schema in the Fera review app. Settings → SEO → Rich snippets. +4 pts on all 30 pages.
  3. Turn on breadcrumbs in the theme. Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add Breadcrumb section. +4 pts on all 30 pages.
  4. Mark variant availability explicitly. Set "Track quantity" in Shopify Admin for every variant. +5 pts on all 30 pages.
  5. Add an ISBN-13 metafield and push to Google via the Shopify Google channel. +2 pts on all 30 pages.
  6. Record one 30-second video per book (a child pressing a button, the song playing) and upload to each PDP. +4 pts.
  7. Add a customer-photo gallery via the Fera widget or Loox. +4 pts.
  8. Add 2-3 more images per PDP: a child holding it, a size shot, a close-up of the button. +2 pts where image count was below 4.
  9. Rewrite the two "Set of 2" Spanish variants with distinct titles + descriptions. +10-15 pts on those specific pages.
  10. Add Organization + BreadcrumbList schema in theme.liquid. +4 pts site-wide.

Projected post-fix score: 72-78/100 on every Lufi page (matching their Searchable AEO baseline of 68 and Technical 77).

Total cost

  • 30 pages × $8/page (10-49 tier) = $240 paid via Stripe.
  • ~$0.40 in AI tokens for the full batch (Gemini Flash, free-tier cap, with the per-host brand-voice cache halving token usage on every audit after the first).
  • Time to deliver: 15 minutes end-to-end (cron processes 2 items/minute).
