The 2026 product page checklist: win shoppers and AI
A great product page does two jobs at once: it convinces a person to buy, and it gives an AI assistant a reason to recommend you. Here is the checklist, in plain language. It works on Shopify, WooCommerce, or any store.
1. A hook at the top
Open with one line that says who it's for and why it matters - not just the product name. Shoppers decide in seconds, and AI repeats the clearest pitch it finds.
2. A title and description in your customers' words
Use the words people actually search and say, lead with the benefit, and keep the real details. This helps Google match the page and gives AI something concrete to quote.
3. Strong images (and a video)
Show the product in use, at a sense of scale, and up close. A short clip lifts confidence. More media also gives image search and AI more to understand.
4. Reviews and a star rating on the page
A visible rating is the single strongest trust signal for shoppers, and a clear quality signal for AI. Bring reviews onto the page instead of leaving them in an app or off-site.
5. An FAQ that answers real buyer questions
List the questions people always ask before buying, and answer them on the page. This is exactly what an AI assistant is trying to answer for the shopper.
6. Structured data (the part AI reads)
This is a small block of code - Product, Review and FAQ schema - that states your facts in a format Google and AI trust. Shoppers never see it; machines rely on it. If it's missing, AI often can't verify your product and recommends one it can read instead.
7. A clear trust strip
State shipping, returns and any guarantees plainly. AI surfaces these in its answers, and shoppers look for them before they buy.
8. A mobile add-to-cart that stays put
Most shoppers are on a phone. A sticky add-to-cart bar removes friction at the moment they decide.

Does this work for WooCommerce, not just Shopify?
Yes - these are platform-independent. They apply to any store with a live product page.
What is the single most important item?
Structured data plus visible reviews. Together they let AI read and trust your product, and they reassure shoppers.
How long does this take?
Most items are copy-paste changes you can do in an afternoon. The structured data is one block you paste once.
